Want Respect 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I started working from home about a year ago so I could be home with my boys as well as bring in some money. Granted I do not make a TON but it still pays for a lot of the extras (School clothes, dinners out - with and without the kids, vacations, etc.) My frustration is that most people, including my husband, act like I am so lucky to work at home and its so easy. Honestly - I would sooo much rather go into an office with other people and then leave my work there when I left - and I can only imagine what it would be like to be in a car by myself listening to my music on the way to and from work - my mind could us a little clearing! I'm by myself with 3 boys who are always in need of something I can never start and finish a project without at least 10 interruptions and I work 7 days all hours. My choice I know - but what I would like to know is if anyone else out there has managed to get it across to outsiders that working at home is real work - it is not a cake walk, you cannot do dishes at the same time and it IS a REAL JOB! Thanks for any recommendations!

I started talking more about what I did in a day to my husband and my friends - even went as far as writing it down for a few days so he could actually see where my time went - which was always his question - it hasn't solved the problem but he's stopped asking what I do all day and when he does he gets an earful. My friends too since I have started chatting more about my schedule have come to realize I do work behind those closed doors - I know talking about work is the last thing you want to do when you finally get a break but it might help - good luck
